Message from the Principal

Welcome to Saint Patrick's Primary School, a place where you and your family can truly belong! Our school, guided by our motto 'Commitment, Connection, Community', is dedicated to creating a warm and inclusive environment for all.

St Patrick's has proudly served the rural community of Nanango since 1912.  The school was founded and initially staffed by the Sisters of Mercy. From 1955 to 1971, St Patrick's catered for students up to Year 10.  In 1981, the school appointed its first lay Principal, and the last teaching Sister of Mercy departed in 1982. Our work today is a testament to the rich history and traditions established by the religious and lay staff who came before us, instilling a sense of trust and reliability in our educational practices.

At St Patrick's, we are committed to providing a learning environment that is tailored to each student's unique needs. Our focus on high-quality teaching and learning ensures that our students are equipped to be empowered 21st-century learners, ready to make a positive impact on the global community.

Our library and classrooms provide flexible, contemporary learning spaces that are dynamic and digitally connected, with all students provided with an iPad for school use. Students engage with the ACARA curriculum and have access to specialist teachers for:

  • Technology
  • Music
  • Art
  • Drama
  • HPE

As a Catholic school, St Patrick's is a living expression of the Church's pastoral mission. Students are supported to develop their relationship with God and respond to His presence in their lives through access to:

  • high-quality religious education;
  • celebration and prosperous prayer and liturgy experiences; and
  • engagement in social justice projects and initiatives.

We encourage family and parish participation through liturgy, mass, class prayer, and significant events that connect us to our faith.  We celebrate our rich story and traditions throughout the year, and we invite parents and carers to join us for celebrations such as:

  • St Patrick's Feast Day
  • Holy Week
  • ANZAC Day
  • Mother's/Father's/Grandparent's Day Celebrations
  • Athletics, Swimming and Cross-Country Carnivals
  • Weekly Assembly
  • School Concert
  • Quiz Night

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision.  I invite you to explore our website and encourage you to arrange a time to visit us at St Patrick's! It would be a pleasure to welcome you to our beautiful grounds, where you can experience our engaging classrooms and friendly community firsthand. We hope to see you soon!
