This week (7 - 14 July) we celebrate NAIDOC Week 2024. This is a wonderful week of celebration, and the theme for this year is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud."
This theme represents the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations cultures, passed down through generations. It symbolises the connection to land, each other, and the rich traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This theme reminds us all to keep the deep within our hearts burning.
During National NAIDOC Week, we commemorate the first Day of Mourning and celebrate the history and culture of First Nations people. St Patrick's students will spend the week participating in activities aimed at building cultural appreciation and a better understanding of the significance of NAIDOC Week.
St Patrick's Primary School will hold a special liturgy to commemorate this occasion on Friday, July 12th, at 11:10 a.m. in the school hall. We hope to see you there.
